Amikor kb. 2 éve elkezdtek jönni a hírek, hogy lesz ez a két kategória, egy full proto hibrides ill. egy vásárolt vázra épülő saját motoros már akkor is csodálkoztam hogy gondolják azt, hogy ezek nagyon erős BOP nélkül tényleg egy súlycsoportban lesznek.
Ha viszont BoP-al lerontják a Supercarok-at az LMDh-k szintjére, akkor 2-3 éven belül mindenki LMD-h-ra vált majd.
A Glickenhaus meg szép project, de hibrid nélkül esélytelen.
A mai tesztnapon a Ferrari volt a leggyorsabb, a #7-es Toyota pedig kresselt a Tetre Rouge-ban.

The NASCAR Garage 56 entry got off to a strong start, too: The No. 24 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 looked competitive with the GTE Am field, especially in the hands of Jenson Button, who set a 3m56.880s, which would have been fourth-quickest in the GTE Am running order.

A WEC azzal indokol, hogy nagyobb a teljesítménybeli különbség az LMH alkategórián belül, mint előzetesen várták, ezért nemcsak a két platform, hanem a platformon belül is indokolt lett a korrekciózás.
“Performance adjustment between LMH and LMDh platforms means changes for all cars within each group in order to balance out the best LMH car with the best LMDh car,” a statement from the FIA and ACO provided to Sportscar365 read.
“However, following the first three races of the season it turned out that performance differences within the LMH group are greater than initially anticipated, therefore balancing out only the two platforms wouldn’t be sufficient to fulfill the ultimate goal that the BoP is meant to achieve, and that is to ensure a level playing field for all competitors.
“Therefore, corrections were made between, but also within, the LMH and the LMDh platforms – BoP changes and balancing out between the platforms in this case happened simultaneously.”

Soucek vezette BMW meg beleszaladt egy Porschéba, mehetett is javításra, majd visszaküldték de belassult, közben a spanyolt találták vétkesnek az ütközésben kapott rá 32 mp büntetést (nem mintha már számítana nekik)
A WEC legsikeresebb amatőr versenyzője, Paul Dalla Lanna befejezi, már a hétvégén Spa-ban sem indul.
A Northwest AMR helyébe a Ian James Heart of Racing alakulata lép, akik az IMSA-ban versenyeznek. A szabályok szerint ezt az évet a WEC-ben a Northwest AMR névvel és #98-as rajtszámmal viszik végig.

“He is a legendary AMR driver and world champion, and the standards he has set as a ‘Bronze’ driver over more than 10 years of racing in WEC are unbelievable,” Tasker said. “We are unlikely to see anything like it again. To win 25% of all the races he contested in WEC is an amazing record, and to finish on the podium 37 times is equally astonishing.
“Aston Martin owes Paul a great debt of gratitude and we will miss his competitive drive and indubitable spirit inside the garage. On behalf of all of us at Aston Martin, thank you Paul, and congratulations on a fantastic career, you have done us all proud.
“We’d also like to take this opportunity to welcome Heart of Racing into the WEC paddock. The team has been doing a stellar job in IMSA for some time now, which was clearly shown by its victory in the Rolex 24 and IMSA GTD title, and we have every confidence that it can grow and develop to mirror those championship-winning achievements at world level.”
“The world championship is the most important championship in this moment, and we prefer to [go] step by step.
“In 2023, just WEC. In 2024, we will see. I see that before the half-season, it is impossible to make a consideration.”
Coletta would not be drawn to say how a future Ferrari GTP program might look, in terms of whether it would be operated by the AF Corse factory team or a privateer outfit.
